Removing and Replacing Basement Flood Damage
The rooms in the basement had been flooded with 18″ of water in some areas. The damaged sheetrock, insulation, and flooring had to be removed, then replaced.
Opening the Walls
First, the sheetrock, insulation and flooring was removed.
Demolish of Damage
The damaged material was bagged and removed.
Drying and Sealing
The wood frame moisture content was measured until it was below 17%, then sealed with mold and mildew resistant primer.
Insulation Install
The new insulation was added and the seams between the existing insulation and plugs were taped to stop air inflitration
Garage Wall
A moisture barrier was added to the garage wall also to stop air infiltration
Sealing it Up!
Cracks and seams were sealed with foam and caulk to stop water and air infiltration
Installing the Sheetrock
Mold and mildew resistant sheetrock was used to replace the old sheetrock
Flooring and Paint
Waterproof laminated flooring was install and the Antimicrobial Paint was used on the walls
